Network Engineers

SMART is looking for network engineers with excellent Cisco skills to join one of our existing teams currently engaged in testing network solutions in a laboratory environment. The team conducts this testing on the latest hardware and software to confirm compliance in each area of network topology.

Details of the roles are as follows:

Assisting with the production of formal test specifications.
Agreeing a final test plan with the Customer.
Ordering the equipment required to build, maintain and improve the test network.
Complete the testing as set out in the test plan to the agreed specification(s).
Record all results from testing and, compile final report for the customer.
Resolve all faults found during the testing phase.

The sort of people that we are looking for will have at least one of the following Cisco qualifications;

CCNA, CCNP, CCDA or CCDP. Experience in some of the following Cisco technologies would be beneficial:
Hardware: GSR, 10k, 7500, 7200, 6400, 3600, 2600 and 800 series routers. 6500, 3550 series catalysts
Protocols: OSPF, BGP, MPLS, PPP, L2TP, Layer 2 Switching, NAT and HSRP.
VOIP: PGW and Call Manager
General: TACACS, Radius, UNIX, CW2K, IXIA, AdTech and Spirent

To be successful in this role you will be pro-active, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team or on your own. You will need to be thorough and methodical as you will have full responsibility for the test results and the resolution of problems found during testing.

As there is a reasonable amount of interaction with the Customer and specialist technology groups, it is important that you are able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. All the work will be conducted from modern offices located in Berkshire however you will be required to visit Customer sites located elsewhere in the UK as required.
